Name: Idia Shroud. Door: Door pass. Canon: Twisted Wonderland. Canon Point: End of book/chapter 5. CRAU Void Trecker. Canon AU aftermaths of returning from the Void and physical body being in a coma during that time. Age: 19 (18 canon, 19 via CRAU). Appearance: Human form. Overblot form. CRAU/Canon AU aftermaths: human form includes three circular connectors ‘port holes’ in his upper back and lined up to his spine, each approximately two inches in diameter. History: Via wiki (note hidden on page for spoilers). CR AU (Optional): Void Trecker: After the first day of the VDC at Night Raven College, Idia found himself brought to the Void Train, an interdimensional train that draws in people to help it aid planets affected by disturbances from the Void. Placed into Orange Team, Idia spent nine months as part of the Train alongside others from other worlds, and those from other timelines of his own world. Between planet-side missions Idia found time to work on a number of projects, including programming, technical builds, and recording the going-ons of the Train at their many stops and events. A brief attempt to send people home however gave Idia a chance to see his world had moved on without him (see below with the ‘Troublesome Children’), before they were forced back onto the Train to continue their mission. Eventually the organization that took them was able to correct the error in the ‘tethers’ that brought them to the train in the first place, allowing them the choice to stay, go home to the time they came from but lose access to Void travel to their world, or return to current time and leave the chance for Void travel to come to their world. Idia chose to keep the choice of Void travel possible and return to the ‘now’ of his time, nine months after he left. AU Canon due to CRAU: Due to the manner in how the Void Train ‘tethered’ it’s heroes, the mind and soul of a person was put into a copy of a new body, however their original bodies stayed in their world in a comatose state. At the on-set of his coma in his world, Idia’s body was taken out of Night Raven College and brought back to his home on the Island of Woe where it was observed to try and solve what had made him fall into a coma. During this time the events of Chapter/Book 6 was taking place, resulting in the ‘Troublesome Children’ of Night Raven College (those who had previously overblotted) being taken to STYX for examination. However due to being in a coma, Idia took no part in this. Instead testing went ahead as normal, and at the end of the procedure, all those taken from NRC had their memories wiped via the Lethe and returned to school with no memory of their time in STYX. The school itself was also ‘flooded’ to erase the presence of STYX there, and the choice was made to take it back far enough to erase Idia’s presence at the school entirely. After waking from his coma and returning home Idia stayed in STYX and continued his work as co-director. However the events which should had taken part in Chapter/Book 6 but were delayed by his absence happened, the phantoms of the Underworld able to break free thanks firstly to Ortho’s aid, then Idia himself once he overblotted upon discovering his younger brother was still alive. With no ‘Troublesome Children’ around to stop him, Ortho in full control of all STYX systems, and no access to the Lightning Spears, STYX and the Island of Woe was quickly overtaken by phantoms. Intent with ‘creating a world for humans and phantoms’ so his brother could exist in it again, Idia spent time before taking the phantoms to the surface of the world to start spreading, making plans how to carry this out and created items to help aid this. He first dominated electrical communications around the world, shutting off the world the best he could from contacting each other and warning others of his movements. Then left the Island of Woe and headed to Sage’s Island, where Night Raven College sits at its northern point. Aware he couldn’t control the world alone, Idia planned to overblot those who had before, establishing them as leaders in their own areas of the world. Aided with tech he created based on the Shroud curse which would allow those overblotted to not be consumed by their phantoms, he turned the previous overblotters and let them out into the world to take over their designated parts. At the time of him being taken a second time, Idia had been leading the Titans against the Jupiter family and to take down their organization, to calm the titans and their endless goal to destroy Jupiter, so they would be fully under his command in future. Being taken from his world again disconnected Idia from his phantom, but still left signs of it on his body and within it, stuck half way between overblot and not with a fine balance to keep himself from fully falling into it again. Though powerful negative emotions still threaten to force him back into it. Personality: Positive Trait: Diligence: While it’s easy at first to see Idia as a slacker and only interested in gaming, he’s an incredibly strong and dedicated worker, just most of his work is done in private or hidden away in STYX. Idia expects only the best out of his work, is quick to complete it, highly detailed, and incredibly efficient. This is seen from his work in STYX, to his studies as a student (even if he often skips classes or doesn’t go to them in person), his builds and projects, and even his gaming. He’s capable of dedicating himself to producing full new bodies for Ortho in just a day or two, even those capable of high altitude flight as seen in Wish Upon a Star event in which he designed and built a body for Ortho to take wishing stars into the atmosphere. He design the ‘ultimate’ security system for STYX, Cerberus, to act as the perfect watch dog that could never be broken. Even his gaming shows his diligence and dedication, from having dedicated blogs showcasing fashion and design in games, to getting so good at certain games he has to handicap himself when playing against others, including holding his controller upside-down. It’s however a side of him he often hides from others, preferring to work in the wee hours of the morning or within isolation and in his own space so to not be interrupted. Negative Trait: Grief: After the death of his brother Idia’s life has been dominated with grief one way or another. From taking two years to build the first version of Ortho’s robot replacement, to the latest model being able to monitor Idia’s brainwaves and distract him when he’s falling into despair over grief. The belief he cost his brother his life is a constant weight on Idia’s shoulders. It’s part of the reason for him redesigning the STYX security system, creating Cerberus, a system that could only be deactivated with Shroud DNA. He also constantly spoils Ortho, giving his ‘brother’ anything he wants with no complaints, to a point that he refused to ‘trick’ Ortho during Halloween and only gave him ‘treats’ instead. He never scolds him, never gets angry at him. Even Ortho’s design was created so it would never break. All in fear of losing him again. Negative Trait: Isolation: While not in true isolation when he was younger, Idia has always had the weight of being heir on his shoulders. It never allowed him to have a normal childhood, and even when he had Ortho by this side, Idia was still soloed out as heir and the requirements that came with it. With Ortho’s death he spent two years alone building the robot that would replace his brother, and even then it took many more years of programming and learning of the AI to be able to simulate human emotions and interactions. So even as this Ortho stayed at Idia’s side constantly, he was still learning to be more than a shell of the boy he was replacing. Upon joining Night Raven College Idia was a loner, having no real experience with interacting with others his own age, fearful of how others saw him due to his appearance, and not able to deal with large numbers. This can be seen in his choice of clubs at school, having shown interest in the Science Club but unable to join due to it having too many members, instead choosing the Board Games Club with its far lower numbers. As he took on the role of dorm leader in his third year, one of the greatest joys of his was getting his own room to himself (and Ortho), he spending most of his time in it and doing classes remotely or not at all. Idia is well prepared at the concept of him not meant to exist in the real world, that once he’s done with school he will vanish back to STYX and taking on his responsibilities there as director, believing there is no point in making connections or friends due to this. Even as director he stands apart from those working at STYX. Firstly, as a Shroud he will be the only magic user within the facility, and the only person with full control over the Underworld. Secondly is due to his brilliance, that even as a child he was recognized among the adults of STYX of how much of a genius he was, they too seeing his actions as the cause of Ortho’s death and talking of how sad it was that he was too smart to have caused it, that no one had been able to predict he would be able to breach STYX security at such a young age. This all adding to that isolation of being different from everyone else. Negative Trait: Arrogance: Idia is very aware he’s a genius, and teamed up with his lack of social interaction skills, this can lead Idia to come off incredibly arrogant when he is able to get past his shyness around others. Even if not meant as insults, he often ends up doing so to others; pointing out how useless they are at something, inadequate to complete a task, or how much better he was at it. And often paying for the consequences of this, such as when he insulted those who tried to save him during the Ghost Bride event in which he got kidnapped by a ghost and almost died to her, others trying to prove they would be a better groom to get Idia freed, but him insulting them in front of her as to why they were poor matches. Despite the fact they could save him. It’s this arrogance that led him to becoming dorm leader of Ignihyde, refusing to allow a ‘lesser’ people be in charge of him despite his disgust at having to act as a dorm leader. He would rather face his social anxiety and dealing with others than to be forced under someone less intelligent than him, seeing himself as the only one perfect for the role as dorm leader. Powers and Abilities: Magic: Idia is able to use the range of magic typical to his world, including elemental attacks such as fire, ice, water, plant, and shadow/darkness, and guarding/shielding magic to protect himself. He can also cover the range of typical magic used by most wizards, such as moving items, aiding in making items, changing appearance of items (e.g. painting), and similar. As a third year student of Night Raven College he was also learning a number of topics there, including his best topic, Summoning. Others include alchemy, flying (via broomsticks), astrology, ancient curses, magic history, magic pharmacology, animal languages, defensive magic, etc. Idia also has a Unique Magic, however at the current point in canon it appears to be situational and only useable in one location; the Underworld. Idia has the ability to open the door to the Underworld which the Shrouds watch over. This appears to be a hereditary Unique Magic linked to the Shroud family/curse. CRAU magic: During his time on the Void Trecker, Idia had to find ways to increase his magic use so to maintain a level of blot in his body. He took to using more floating magic to hold items around him than he normally would do, as well as ‘hovering’/flying in a manner to make him look like he was still walking. Overblot magic: In overblot form Idia is able to ignore the normal limits his body would put on him for magic use, making all of his magic far more powerful. This does come at a cost of his mana, however typically he would be attached to a phantom which would supply him with a limitless amount of mana. Without his phantom Idia is limited to what his body is able to produce, so while he is still vastly stronger in overblot, it is limited due to this mana cap. Tech: Idia is highly skilled in technomancy, yet he also is also talented in creating, designing, building, and maintenance a range of devices without the use of magic, from small items such as small gaming systems (tamogachi style) to large machines (engines/Magic Wheels). He’s also fast to master new items, having to adapt quickly to a number of new technology during his time in the Void (CRAU) and learning new technologies from others who joined the train, some which he was still working out before taken again (sonic technology via Dr Who). Hobbies: As a skilled gamer Idia has great eye/hand coordination, fast reactions, and able to make quick choices as the best way to solve a situation. He’s highly dedicated to them, able to time manage well due to limited timed events, and a strong understanding of RNG and game mechanics and design. Due to his work with designs Idia’s also a talented artist and good study across a number of topics that he uses in his creations. He can be found studying human form to help improve Ortho’s designs by observing other students, and referencing a number of materials to create new forms.
