[Idia really didn't mean it to, just... he has to joke about it. He's already cried too much over it and that didn't solve anything. Joking didn't either, but it's more productive than breaking down for days, or weeks, at a time over it.]

[A couple minutes pass and Cater knocks on Idia's door, opening it as soon as he's given the okay. He's still in his pajamas, full cozy mode with his hair loose.]

[It gives Idia just enough time to get himself out of bed, run a hand through his hair and shuffle over to where he had stored the gift away, all coiled up out of view. Getting time to make it had been tough, between the Cafe opening, craziness of Duplicity, and how often Cater was in his room now days. But... he got it done, and he's glad.

Opening the door to the knock, Idia answer,] Blah, blah, insert joke of never being, blah blah, but got pants on. [It's old, but, heh, still got to, right?] Gimme a moment, it kinda big.

That’s what she said.

[Cater shuffles in with his eyes closed, arms stretched out in front of him in a “gimme gimme” motion, goofy smile on his face.]

Tell me when! [It’s more fun if he doesn’t see it at all until Idia has it pulled out and ready, which is also what she said.]

[PFFT! Well Cater got the reaction he may had wanted with that, Idia hissing out a laugh before a muttered 'omg', a hand going out to Cater's arm to keep him still.] Hold on, hold on. I didn't have time to put it in a fancy box or anything yet, was gonna later on. [But still covered up and hidden away from sight.]

I'mma put it on the bed, so you don't need to cover your eyes. [Idia waving a finger to float the box over to rest it on his bed, inside it being a custom broom for Cater.] Ah, here, happy birthday.

[Opening his eyes and then the box, Cater's entire body seems to light up with the excitement that fills him at the sight of the broom.]

Whoa! Dude! Idia, this is sick!

[He lifts it up to hold it in his hands, smile slapped across his face as he really examines the details. It's so much lighter than he'd expect it to be, looking at it, more comparable to your average broom than would be expected, which is great for what it's meant for.]

And I can fly with this? OMFG! This is the most badical thing anyone's ever gotten me! It's perfect!

Well I didn't make it just for decoration. [Not for you at least. Idia bets Jade's ended up like that. Or had ended up like that before he vanished. Again. At least Cater will get some use out of it.

And... Idia's glad he liked it, he hadn't been too sure on the design, didn't want to reference Heartslabyul too much since... Idia's not sure if that would be too much of a remind that Riddle was no longer here. And he knows Cater likes music. And spicy food. And memes. But... also... not sure what else? Hmmm, really, after this and winter holidays he's out of ideas for gifts. Why do people have to have birthdays every year?! How does he feel he knows Cater but still has no clue about him at the same time? Or if that even matters.] I'll give you the info for how to run it later, it same as how Silver's work though I been tweaking the design to be better each time I do one.

We definitely gotta break this baby in! We can fly on it together!

[Broom flying was always more fun with others, just like skateboarding. For now, though, Cater moves it to one hand so he can lean over and give Idia an emphatic, impulsive kiss.]

Together? Really? [Still...] If that what you want, I mean, you gave me catgirl Cater for my birthday, so... [Idia did make his own broom for his birthday, just kept it away in his room. He doesn't really need it, more it was a memory from how he started this all, when he made his first broom on the Train before Duplicity.

Idia's about to start rambling on about how it worked; how the set up would go, how it worked on the potion system he had created. Yet that kiss came out of no where, and the feeling behind it... Idia doesn't even realize he's blushing as they part, too caught up in what just came across in that kiss.] A-Ah, y-yeah, well, ah, heehee~ you better not expect me to be making the potions for you all the time, unless you're paying me for my work. [Blurting out words in another rambling way this time.]

Yeah! It would be fun!

[He knows that Idia wasn't the best in flying class, but that was more the physical aspect than anything else--he has a feeling that with this system he's built, there won't be any kind of apprehension over heights. Still smiling, Cater giggles, too.]

You mean I can't pay you in cuteness? [He winks.] No but for real, if you show me how it's done I'll put the time in! I wouldn't want to put more on your plate just for the sake of my fun.

[Idia also tended to be, well, physically lazy. That's less an option for him here, and not just in the case of sex, but also with certain people nagging him into trying to improve himself. It's such a pain... but he has liked the results of it, more energy and stamina.

Ok, ok, he's fine, he's fine, a breath to steady himself as that pink fades away, Cater's normal joking self helping that.] Yeah, no. [Shooting back his own joking tone before back to serious.] I'll walk you through it, it's not super difficult with the values I've worked out. Just make sure all the right measurements and temperature and stuff. [Ok, fine, if they're doing this.] Let me get dressed and stuff then if we heading out. [Heh,] I'll treat you to birthday breakfast. Lunch? [What time was it even?]

Brunch it is! Sounds perf.

[Breakfast foods are the best: you can make them sweet or savory, and even mix the flavors! It'll be easy for both of them to find something that sounds good without hassle or breaking the bank.]

I'll change, too. Make myself a totally cute date to hang off of your arm. Meet you downstairs in, like, 10?

A-Ah, ah, ok? Ok, cool, I'll meet you down there then. Pick out a place you wanna go to. [Then a soft giggle, a fwheehee~ from Idia.] I did promise you a fancy meal ages ago, didn't I? [Not like they haven't been to places since then, but Idia had promised that when Cater first arrived and... started this all.

Ok, good, give him a chance to get his head focused back on now and not bouncing around at just wtf that kiss was. Yeah, lets not think about that.] OK, get out, so I can get ready.

[Already on his way out the room, he calls out from behind him:]

I'm going to make you pay up!

[His voice fades into laughter as he jogs downstairs. It won't take too long to get ready--he's not concerned about being too trendy with it still being pretty cold outside. Anyway, he's just going to be hanging out with Idia and Silver, so no need to put on too many airs, right? Cater throws on proper clothing for an outing and runs a brush through his hair but doesn't bother putting it up in any kind of style.

Once he's got his shoes tied, he heads to the front of the house with broom in hand, still all smiles when he sees Idia again.]

There's this breakfast place that I've passed by a ton of times that I want to try. The menu looks good and the reviews are promising! Anyway, gives us an excuse to go up, up, and away!

[Despite talk of a fancy place... Idia assumes they wouldn't be doing that right now, not without planning to find a place and make reservations, so he grabs more casual wear for heading out. Still to bundle up considering the weather, but pretty casual, finding he's started to sway back to some oversize clothing again now he's getting more comfortable here, less... behind his image he feels expected of him. Or he made himself use? But... isn't that really him? He's not sure...

But not important today. Today was about Cater, not Idia.

Clothing on, teeth quickly brushed, water splashed on face and... well he really doesn't have to worry about his hair, Idia quickly gets through them to make that ten minutes Cater set. And of course the other already had a place in mind. Good, because Idia had no clue of where to suggest.] Oh yeah? You're good at finding good spots. [Cater always has an eye on what's popular, even here in Duplicity.] Since it's your birthday I won't even complain about you taking pics of everything.

Aw, really? How about you can complain a little--as a treat.

[He winks with a laugh before they head outside. Cater holds the broom out.]

All right, show me how to fire this baby up! Do I still use magic to control it once it's going, or is it all mechanical?

Pfft, thanks. [Idia grinning a bit at that offer.]

Yup, I made them so they're instinctive for us to use, you just treat it the same as a normal broom. [Before Idia delves into explain it a little bit more... maybe rambling a bit and getting too much into the topic, but more than enough to explain how to operate it and what to look out for that is different. He had spent a lot of time trying to make it feel as normal as riding a broom back home, but improve on it. A smoother ride, a balance between ease but also not too simplified. Little improvements here and there.

With Cater's skill and balance Idia's sure he will pick it up fast, even if it feels weird to begin with.]
